Chairman's Report 2018/2019
The stepping down from the committee of the previous chairman was marked by the committee appointing Dai Thomas as Honorary President to replace the late Lord Langford.
Routine business of the Society has been conducted in the manner of previous years through the committee which held regular monthly meetings throughout the year.
Monthly meetings were as usual well attended, and I think you will agree we had some really interesting speakers who were well received.
Highlights of the year included the centenary of the end of WWI 11th November 2018 and Memorial Service for Canadians buried at Bodelwyddan on 3rd March 2019.
The Calendar project was once more successful, the addition of the smaller version proved very popular.
The work of Sarah as researcher was both popular and profitable, with opening of a direct dedicated email route streamlining the research process.
Unfortunately ill health forced me after February to step back from the duties of the chair. With Richard kindly taking over to cover until this A.G.M.
After two months of almost complete rest, I am somewhat improved, I would like to thank the committee for their support during the year, particularly Dai who has kept us on the straight and narrow, and Ann who makes sure we don’t overspend.
Finally I would like to thank you our members for your continued and enthusiastic support, support which makes the society what it is today.
